Before Wonderland

A Dark Romantasy Prequel of Forbidden Dream Magic, Dangerous Desire, and Beautiful Monsters. The Wonderland Trials TWT Series

by Aveline Marsh

Part of The Wonderland Trials

Before Alice entered the Trial, her parents built the dream that would one day hunt her. Clara Liddell believes dreams can heal grief, shame, memory, and the secret wounds people carry in silence. Elias Liddell believes no dream should ever become a cage. Together, they create Wonderland, a world of roses, mirrors, clocks, impossible doors, dangerous courts, and beautiful monsters.

But Wonderland is not content to remain a cure. As investors gather and scientists begin measuring desire, longing, obedience, and fear, the dream starts to hunger for the people who enter it. The Garden grows teeth. The mirrors learn to look back. The Heart Court wakes too early. And something older waits beneath the roots, listening for the child who has not yet been born.
When Wonderland recognises Alice before her first breath, Clara, Elias, and Beatrice Hart realise the dream has found more than a future subject. It has found a door. To protect their daughter, they must build a key, hide the truth, and face the terrible cost of loving someone enough to leave them behind.
Before Wonderland is a dark romantasy prequel of forbidden dream magic, dangerous desire, gothic fantasy romance, roses, mirrors, beautiful monsters, and tragic sacrifice. This Wonderland origin story reveals the heartbreaking truth behind Alice Liddell’s first door.
